PARLIAMENTARY WORK
Georges was only sworn into Parliament on 20 January 2026. Since then, he has asked various parliamentary questions, such as about the future of the blast furnace hall in Esch-Belval or passenger safety on public transport.
During his time as Minister for Labour and Sport, he set various projects in motion, some of which have already been passed. Such as Sunday work, which is increased to up to 8 hours, the adjustment of employment measures for young people, or the possibility of applying for unemployment benefits online. As Sports Minister, Georges more than doubled the budget: from 41 million under his predecessor to 87 million euros for 2026.
Georges became rapporteur for a bill implementing the pay agreement in the public service. The aim is for state employees to also fall under the disciplinary regime of the civil service. He will also be rapporteur for the new press law.
Georges’s main focus will be on social security.
