This week, a whole host of projects will once again be discussed in the Chamber, and interesting topics debated:
Electoral law reform
The Institutions Committee is continuing its work on modernising the electoral law. This concerns an initial version of possible changes. The aim is to adapt the rules for organising elections to the realities of the 21st century.
Large Scale Testing
The Budget Control Committee will adopt a draft report on the Court of Auditors’ special report on Large Scale Testing during the Covid pandemic. There may also be an orientation debate on the matter in the public sitting.
Health coverage
Among other things, the Health Committee is analysing a proposed law to introduce universal health coverage in Luxembourg.
Visit to the École internationale Mersch Anne Beffort
The Education Committee is making a field visit to the international school in Mersch.
Right to be forgotten after cancer
The Health and Finance Committees are dealing with a proposed law intended to introduce a right to be forgotten for people who have been cured of cancer. This is meant to make it easier for them to access certain insurance products in the context of a loan.
Tripartite, STATEC and aid for major electricity consumers
In the special “Tripartite” committee, STATEC will present the figures and scenarios that formed the basis for the Tripartite discussions and the measures in the agreement of 8 June 2026.
In addition, legislative texts on the energy price cap will be analysed and draft law 8774 will be presented: targeted aid for major electricity consumers that are heavily affected by high electricity prices. Depending on how electricity prices develop, the costs are estimated at 32 to 52 million euros for 2026 to 2028.
Luxembourg Medicines Agency
The Health Committee is continuing work on the relevant legislative text.
Heat pumps: clearer rules and controls
The Environment Committee will be presented with draft law 8595 on heat pumps. It concerns the installation, inspection and commissioning of heat pumps, as well as safety, energy efficiency and environmental protection.
PFAS / “forever chemicals”
Four committees — Environment, Agriculture, Health and Labour — will jointly discuss PFAS. On the agenda are the first interministerial PFAS report and a mapping of the professions and positions exposed to PFAS and TFA.
2025 report of the Inspection générale de la Police
The Home Affairs Committee is holding an exchange on the 2025 activity report of the Inspection générale de la Police.
Space Campus and green technologies
The Economy Committee is continuing its work on the Space Campus project. Draft law 8768 provides for support for strategic green technologies, for example batteries, solar panels, wind energy, heat pumps or electrolysers. Estimated cost: up to 197 million euros.
Law on private security services
The Justice Committee is working on the draft law on private guarding and surveillance activities.
Tram, intelligent transport systems and the public bus service
The Transport Committee is presenting and adopting four reports: on roads and roadworks permits, the tram extension to CHL, intelligent transport systems, and financing of public bus services.
Housing: three reports
The Housing Committee will be presented with three reports: the 2025 annual report of the Fonds spécial pour le logement abordable, the 2025 activity report of the Fonds du Logement, and the 2025 activity report of the SNHBM.
