PARLIAMENTARY WORK
As rapporteur for the 2026 budget, Maurice placed the emphasis on combating poverty through a targeted social policy, above all the fight against child poverty.
Because: a policy against child poverty is not charity—it is an investment in the future. The aim is a targeted fight against poverty across all ministries. In that spirit, meetings were held with over 60 stakeholders, the budget was analysed, and 16 recommendations were then formulated. 15 billion euros—around 46 percent of state spending—will flow this year into social transfers.
Maurice was the CSV spokesperson for the implementation of the pay agreement in the public service:
An increase in the point value of 2 percent for 2025 and half a percent for 2026.
A harmonisation of the lower career grades.
The interest subsidies on mortgage loans, which were increased.
In parliamentary debates on the topic of digitalisation, Maurice stressed that digitalisation and artificial intelligence must be priorities for a modern state. Everyone must be brought along on this path.
Maurice is looking forward to the implementation of the anti-poverty plan with all its projects.
